Eunice Amanda Davis Cutler Andrews Sisson

Eunice Amanda Davis Cutler Andrews Sisson – whew!- was the mother, probably adoptive, of Mary Alice Cutler born 28 MAR 1848 in New York who married Benjamin Walker Ellison.

Eunice Amanda Davis was the daughter of William Davis of Rhode Island and Alma Rathburn of Connecticut.  Note that Amanda Cutler is back living with her parents in 1870, but her first husband Samuel Cutler is not listed. Samuel Cutler is not to be found on the US 1870 Census.

Eunice Amanda married first Samuel H. Cutler then James T. Andrews on 06 Nov 1879 in Geauga County, Ohio and then Wilder M. Sisson on 20 APR 1898 in Geauga County, Ohio.

Eunice Amanda Sisson died 5 JUN 1917 in Geauga County, Ohio and was buried in Claridon Center Cemetery, Geauga County, Ohio with her second husband, James T. Andrews.

William A. Ellison Birth Record

On 15 AUG 1868, William Arthur Ellison was born to Benjamin W. and Mary A. Ellison in Parma, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. You will note that Benjamin registered his son’s birth in Montcalm County, Michigan. Benjamin and Mary had been living in Michigan since May of 1863. In 1870, they are listed as being back in Cleveland on the U.S. Census.

William A. Ellison is the father of Harold Delmont Ellison.

Benjamin W and Mary Alice Ellison Marriage Records

On the 26th of December 1862, Benjamin Walker Ellison applied for a marriage license to wed Mary Alice Cutler. They were wed on New Year’s Eve — 31 DEC 1862 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. Benjamin was 21 years old and Mary Alice was 14 years old.

Margaret Ellison 1841 England Census

On this page you can see Margaret Ellison, age 20 years, is living in the Temperance Hotel in Baildon, Yorkshire, England with her one year old baby, Mary Maria. Her husband Walker had passed away in March.

I ordered this article to see if this family is connected to my Livesey family. Reuben Livesey and Alice Prince of Preston, Lancashire, England (married 1873). I will have to check further on this, unless a cousin can tell me!
