Here is my grandfather, Ivan Ralston, on the 1925 Iowa State Census, living with his mother and father and siblings.
If you Google the address: 312 E Avenue NW, Cedar Rapids you can still see the house.
In 1923, the family was living at 1633 N 8th. Ivan was working at Williams & Hunting and William at the C R I & P.
The Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Railroad was a Class 1 railroad.
In 1926, Ivan is still working at Williams & Hunting. His father William is working at Edinger Company according to the Directory below:
Williams & Hunting Co., Manufacturers of Sash & Doors, Mouldings, Stair Work, Church, Bank, Office, and Store Fixtures, and Jobbers of Art, Plate, & Window Glass, Building Paper, Etc., in Cedar Rapids, Iowa
The Edinger Company was a cut stone contractor in Cedar Rapids.
In 1929, Ivan is married now to my grandmother Marjorie and they are living at 817 Division Street. He is still at Williams & Hunting and she is bookkeeping at the Fleischmann Company. William is still at Edinger’s but living at 424 N 5th Avenue.
Donald P. Ralston’s obituary as saved by my father. My grandfather Ivan was still alive when Donald passed away. Unfortunately, my father did not save the entire obituary.
